Blog Post: Day 19

Sunday Funday! Also known as get it done day.  Today was decorate the babies room.  It’s also two thirds of the way through this Challenge.  Staying strong…piece of gluten free, no added sugar cake.  Go to breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms with green onions and kale.

In the midst of a little painting and furniture putting together, we munched on leftover garlic yuca mixed with leftover marinara.  Yea, this is my kind of food.  Marinara, garlic, olive oil…matches made in Italian heaven.

Hubby and I needed to get out of the house.  Even if it was just a trip to Trader Joes.  We put all the boys down for naps, instructed our teen to call only in case of an early wake up or emergency, and hit the high road with our littlest roll dawg…Miss Sweet Thang.  (she has many nicknames)  TJs was a nice little break but we were both hungry and feeling weak.  We looked at and talked about all the sweet junky things we wanted to eat (which normally we would never eat Challenge or not).  Pretty sure my blood sugar went through the roof just walking around that place.  When exactly am I supposed to stop craving the junk??  People…this is a Challenge…it can and will be challenging!  But, I promise you, the end will all be worth it.  I promise.  I will put it in writing and send it directly to you.  It will be worth it.  IT IS WORTH IT.

Back home and we managed to escape all our cravings.  It was fun to daydream and make up strange combinations of foods we really would never look twice at…chocolate covered potato chips anyone??

Dinner was cauliflower soup with kale and collard pesto.  Best of both greens thrown into this pesto.  This is an easy to make favorite.  And another pesto I could eat straight with a spoon.  Yummmm.
