Recipe: MBS Shake
MBS Shake, also known as Mango, Banana, Spinach Shake
This was a quick fix for my sweet tooth this morning and so delicious I had to immediately write about it. This thick creamy shake is absolutely loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber. No honey or added sweeteners needed. Oh and did I mention it’s delicious?
Okay, I know, shameless plug for my football team…Go Skins!! I’m obviously very excited for football season…only 6 more months!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup coconut milk
1 ripe mango
1 fresh or frozen banana
1 large handful of baby spinach
1 Tablespoon of chia seeds
1-3 Tablespoon(s) of hemp seeds
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Put the milk in your blender, add chia, hemp, and coconut oil and turn on lowest setting to combine. Put the rest of ingredients in and blend until smooth. Grab a straw or a spoon & feel the goodness going in!
Here you go, for all you haters I turned the cup around. Booo.
This shake also makes an excellent baby food for babies over 8 months old who have been introduced to all the ingredients separately. Substitute breast milk for coconut milk and omit oil, chia and hemp. Please make sure your baby has had mango, banana, and spinach on it’s own first before offering the combination.
Today is my baby’s 7 month anniversary of life and he hasn’t had anything but his mama’s milk yet, but today is the day we introduce some solids! We’re going for a sweet potato/b milk combo….stay tuned for pics!
